Matchy-Matchy in Vichy Print

Matchy-matchy outfit ideas in vichy print today! Keep reading 🙂

Centuries ago, the vichy print was associated with household items, such as tablecloths from French bistros.

Vichy is the French name by which gingham is known, a plain fabric made from dyed cotton or cotton blend. The French call it “vichy” because they believe that it was born in the Vichy region, while this print is characterized by white as the base and selected color mixed with white.

Famous actress, Brigitte Bardot changed her reputation as a gingham – a so-called lightweight material with contrasting patterns when she chose a simple plaid wedding dress in 1959.

In the early 1990s  fashion designer, Azzedine Alaia introduced Vichy to high fashion. Later, many other designers used this pattern in their collections.

Vichy is a fashion trend that periodically appears on the fashion scene and touches the streets, wardrobe and hearts of fashion lovers.  It’s become timeless and so appropriate for different daily occasions. It’s so cute, retro chic and summerish.

I decided to recreate vichy retro chic look with my younger sister, Marina. We are in pretty matchy-matchy outfits in vichy print. I’m wearing green-white vichy crop top and high-waist pants and Marina is wearing  blue-white vichy crop top and ruffle mini skirt.

Enjoy the photos and feel free to write me your impressions…
